We know that vaccines are an excellent way to keep your children safe and healthy, but which vaccinations are the most important? These are the most up-to-date recommendations for childhood immunizations:
Rotavirus Vaccine (RotaTeq) - This immunization is recommended in a three-dose schedule at ages 2, 4, and 6 months. The first shot should be given when the child is between 6 and 12 weeks old, with the following doses administered in 4 and 10 weeks.
Flu Shot - The influenza vaccine is recommended for all children 6 months and older
Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine - The vaccine for chickenpox should be given to children when they are 12 to 15 months old. The second dose is recommended at ages 4 to 6 years old.
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) - This vaccine should be given in a three-dose schedule. The second and third doses should be given 2 and 6 months after the initial vaccine.
These are just a few of the vaccines that all children should get. If you have questions about this or would like to learn more about the specific vaccinations, please do not hesitate to contact Teens N Tots.
